Rabbi Chashi holds a BA in Talmud and Land of Israel Studies, an MA in Jewish Education, a Teacher’s Certificate and Rabbinical Ordination. He served as a community rabbi and educator in California and previously coordinated Jewish Thought and Identity at the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute. He is a recipient of the Avi Chai Foundation Sabbatical Grant.
Rabbi Chashi joined Nativ 25 years ago and has been involved in Jewish education worldwide for more than 40 years. As Director of Education, he is tasked with developing Nativ’s vision for in-depth, inclusive and hands-on learning. His responsibilities in this role include training and mentoring teachers, building curricula, interdisciplinary educational development, continuing education, and resolving various educational dilemmas.
